Fort Bend Chamber wins at Texas Chamber of Commerce Executive Conference
The Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) conference held its 105th annual conference in Las Colinas, Texas, June 25th – 28th.
The TCCE is the oldest and most prestigious organizations committed to providing relevant professional development for the chamber of commerce profession. Texas Chamber of Commerce executives gathered to attend educational sessions, meet their peers in the industry and to represent their communities.
President and CEO, Keri Schmidt represented the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. The conference included a media contest. This was the first time the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce participated in the competition. They were up against the largest chambers in the State of Texas.
The Chamber took two top awards for Marketing Campaigns and Social Media Marketing.
“We were extremely excited to be recognized at the conference. This is a reflection of the talent and enthusiasm represented by our Fort Bend Chamber team,” Schmidt said.
Additionally, Schmidt was recognized with a distinguished service award for her ten years of tenure at the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce. The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce was established in 1972 to provide an important resource for all types of businesses in Fort Bend County.

Despite cancellations across the state due to drought, Missouri City and Sugar Land still plans on featuring fireworks at their annual Fourth Of July celebrations.
The City of Rosenberg has cancelled their celebration due to the extremely dry conditions, and the City of Fulshear opted for a laser light show rather than fireworks at their July 2 celebration.
Missouri City’s event will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1122 Buffalo Run Blvd. and will also feature Laser Tag, video games, Bounce Houses, a rock wall and other activities for free. Fireworks will be set off at dusk.
Sugar Land’s celebration is scheduled from 5-10 p.m. at Oyster Creek Park, 4033 State Highway 6 South. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Admission, activities and parking/shuttle service are all free.

Municipal offices are closed for the day as well as the Fort Bend ISD offices and county libraries.
