Wedding Wednesday: Decorating ideas to help make your day

Fresh and fun ways to dress up a wedding reception can be found in some new do-it-yourself decorating ideas from Michaels.

*Grab guests' attention with unique table markers. Consider filling mason jars with jelly beans in one of your wedding colors, and adorn the jars with ribbons. Then, attach the numbers to chalkboard table picks, which will be inserted into the jars that are filled with the jelly beans.

*Delight guests with a candy buffet. Fill glass containers with candies of all kinds. It would be kind of cute if the candies represented the wedding colors. Have labels printed with the couple's name on them, and attach the labels to the glass containers. Be sure to provide candy boxes so that guests can take home their new sweet stash.

*Instead of a guest book, have guests write words of encouragement and well wishes on small cards.  Guests can drop the cards into a decorative box. Or, before the wedding starts, have someone punch holes through the corner of each card and adorn them with ribbons. Have guests write a special message and hang the cards on a wish tree. The cards or printable tags can be a color from the wedding. The branches on the wish tree can also coordinate with the decor. Brides will need to plan ahead for this look. The cards can be printed in advance with one side saying, "Best wishes to the bride and groom." The other side of the card can be blank so that people may write their message. Be sure to have plenty of ink pens available for guests so there won't be a bottleneck at the door as people enter the reception. Keep the notes and read them on the first anniversary.

*Make a clever reception table centerpiece full of style and tasty treats . Create a base of candy sticks and wrap them with a decorative ribbon. Add a monogram tag for a special touch. Insert a lollipop stick that holds the table number for the reception. Top it off with candy-coated almonds.

* Dance the night away in comfort. Decorate a box and fill it with wedding favor flip-flops for guests. Pick flip-flops that are all one color and accent them with a wedding color ribbon. Add a colorful tag that denotes if the flip-flops are sizes S, M or L. Put the box in a place where guests can find them. Attach a cute message to the shoes.

Design on a budget

There are a variety of ways to further embellish your candy jars. "For a wedding candy buffet, adding colours and embellishments adds depth to the glass," says Katherine Merkle, Krylon brand manager. "This gives your table a more sophisticated look

Wedding costs can inflate very quickly

According to Lemke, forget the chocolate fountains, photo booths or candy-buffets."None of these things are unique, none of them make the wedding. And all of them are budget wasters! "Focus on doing one or two things perfectly, such as the food or the

These banks, Mortgage companies and realtors - The whole nexus of sharks have made refinance almost impossible since last week.. Any body else noticed that? What happened is as soon as FED cut down the rate this nexus dramatically reduces the price 10 - 15%. If you go to zillow, you would find at least 10% reduction published for almost every home with comparison to 5 days before... Something is cooking up.. I do not know what it may be...At least for VA, MD, DC based homes I see this pattern. It looks like, lenders do not want to invite refinances.. and that is scary. Even most sites shows the list of properties with less value under " property sold last in 6 months" and make the properties disappeared which wer sold with reasonable price. I noticed this pattern for many bank alerts as well. So now the real picture you can get from is the county database only to fight these sharks. Are they trying to divert all to government loans (FHA?)... watch out. Reading the article I take it that the writer is only concerned about the profitability of buying a house in the current situation. He's not of the opinion that buying a house is bad investment, ever! But a good investor does not try to time the market; it is, in my opinion, even if you tried, an art and not a science. So now maybe the best time to buy actually! But I have also seen many ignorant, anti-capitalist, anti-government, conspiracy theorist freaks out there, blogging from their basement, and writing articles suggesting that the government is somehow brain washing the public into buy a house so that they'll become the government’s slaves for the rest of their lives. These guys have actually never ever made any real money. They come up with short sighted calculations to prove that renting for life is better than owning a home. In my opinion no one should be listening to these people. I have yet to hear from a successful investor, or a businessman, or anyone that has what you may call reasonable wealth, saying that real estate is bad in the long run. I would take these people's advice any day because they have the money to show for their sound investment strategies, one of them being investment in a house, or a piece of real estate. Where I live, the median house price is 200,000. I bought a house which is lower than the median and when the market was on the downward trend (september 2006).
