Haase Scores 76-lap Night of Fire Win at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LAS VEGAS -- Alex Haase took the lead from Jay Beasley on lap 35 and went on to win the 76-lap MetroPCS NASCAR Super Late Model feature on the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway's annual Night of Fire. It was the second NASCAR Whelen All-American Series win of the year for Haase, who also won tonight's six-lap Budweiser MetroPCS NASCAR Super Late Model Dash. Beasley settled for second place and Bear Rzesnowiecky throttled past Steve Anderson for third. Anderson and Scott Gafforini completed the top five.

"I was a little nervous, starting 10th, after the inversion," said Haase. "The car was amazing. We worked really hard on the car last night, getting it good on the long runs and I think it paid off."

The near-capacity American-holiday crowd weathered a 60-minute rain delay. After the track dried, the NASCAR Bomber feature was up first. The 30-lap Bomber finale was won by Jason Kiser. Dallas Simonette was second and Pete Meyer finished third. The win was Kiser's second of the 2011 season. NASCAR Bomber heat races were won by Kiser, Simonette and Gerry Dittman.

Chris Bray took the lead from Patrick O'Hanley on lap 4 and checked out on the rest of the field. Due to a number of incidents, the feature hit its time limit and it was shortened to 16 laps. Bray notched his first Charger win of the season, followed by three-time winner Patrick O'Hanley and James Wingard. NASCAR Charger heats were won by Wingard and Mario Opipari.

The 12-lap Bandolero Bandits feature was won by Matt Emery, his third victory of 2011. Caden Carlin was second and Austin Blair was third.

The first three cars in the Bandolero Outlaw feature came across the finish line in a three-wide, near-photo finish. Kayli Barker scored the thrilling win, her sixth of the year. John Spilotro scored his best finish of the year by coming across the finish line in second place and Austin Morris was third.

Michael Abbate collected his first checkered flag of the 2011 campaign by leading Jason Irwin and Tom Lovelady to the finish line in the 25-lap Legend Cars feature. Alex Haase was fourth and Nick Thigpen completed the top five.

The Fourth-of-July Weekend show included the "Thunderbolt" Jet Dragster destroying a van, firewoks and Robosaurus. On-track interviews: Hannah Rickards, Mix 94.1 FM. National anthem: Bridgette Foster.
